Wyndham Works With Google and Anthropic on AI Bookings

AI booking platforms could become the new gatekeepers of travel demand. Wyndham is among the hotel groups plugging in their inventory and hoping to capture bookings at a lower cost than through OTAs.
Wyndham said it's forging partnerships with Google, Anthropic, and ChatGPT as it looks to reshape how travelers discover and book its properties through artificial intelligence platforms.
"The focus is really on driving more direct bookings," said Wyndham CEO Geoff Ballotti on a fourth-quarter earnings call Thursday. "It's early days."
Google selected Wyndham as one of a handful of partners for an agent booking experience within Google's AI Mode search product. It allows travelers to discover and book Wyndham properties through natural-language conversations without leaving Google's interface, Wyndham executives said.
The company also said it has connected its hotel data directly to Anthropic's Claude family of large language models, and consumers can already click through links
