MakeMyTrip Partners With Vietnam’s Sun Group Amid Experiences Push

MakeMyTrip wants to be a superapp. And for that, partnerships with major destinations seem to be crucial, especially as it scales its experiences vertical.

Online travel company MakeMyTrip has signed an agreement with Vietnamese entertainment and hospitality conglomerate Sun Hospitality & Entertainment Group. Through the partnership, the Sun group aims to leverage MakeMyTrip’s network to showcase its offerings among Indian travelers. 

The partnership comes as India has emerged as a major source market for the Southeast Asian nation. “India is now among Vietnam’s fastest-growing source markets, with arrivals more than tripling since 2019,” said Tran Nguyen, deputy general director of Sun Hospitality & Entertainment Group. 

Vietnam recorded a 231% increase in visitors from India in 2023, compared to 2019. In 2023, 392,000 Indians visited the Southeast Asian country, and this increased to 501,000 visitors in 2024. In the first half of 2025 alone, 337,000 Indians visited Vietnam.
