Ixigo Acquires Hotel Booking Platform and Invests in AI Startups

With Brevistay, Ixigo closes the last major gap in its travel stack. Its twin bets on AI infrastructure hint at a larger goal of keeping trip planning inside its ecosystem, rather than letting it migrate to ChatGPT.
Online travel agency Ixigo said Friday it plans to acquire a 54.66% majority stake in hotel booking platform Brevistay Hospitality for INR 657 million ($17.4 million). Once the deal goes through, Brevistay will become a subsidiary of Ixigo.
Brevistay was founded in 2016 and offers short-stay and overnight hotel bookings through a network that includes budget, mid-range, and premium properties across Tier 1 cities as well as smaller towns. Its flexible-stay inventory is already integrated across Ixigo’s platform.
Together, Ixigo and Brevistay will have access to more than 10,000 directly contracted hotels across India.
