Skift Webinar: How Will Technology Shape the Next 5 Years of Travel and Hospitality?
Skift Take
In a recent webinar, Amazon Web Services (AWS) joined Skift to explore how cloud technology can unlock foundational innovation for travel and hospitality companies across their organizations.
This sponsored content was created in collaboration with a Skift partner.
Anchored by survey data featured in the recently published 2023 Digital Transformation Report, Skift and AWS hosted a webinar discussion exploring how practical applications of advanced technology are influencing the next phase of customer experience and operational success in travel and hospitality.
In this video:
- Work backwards from the customer. Every company is unique, so following the herd when it comes to technological upgrades isn’t always the best strategy. It’s important to understand what’s new, but it’s even more important to understand how those technologies will affect the core fundamentals of the business and customer experience.
- Establish a culture of innovation as a “way of being” across your entire organization. Technology innovation is no longer confined to the IT department or an R&D lab. Travel and hospitality leaders must put their people and processes first, think holistically, and break down silos to operate cohesively, using technology as an enabler.
- Leverage the cloud to harness data that will enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency. The past several years have yielded mass adoption of video streaming, virtual work, tele-medicine, and contactless payments. Now it’s AI and machine learning at scale, which has led to generative AI and large language models. Tomorrow it will be something else, and companies need the cloud so they can be flexible and scale to meet customers’ evolving needs.
