Skift Take

This will be the most consequential event Skift has ever done. Come and experience our Skift Global Forum 2021 at the stunning TWA Hotel.

During the week of our scheduled annual Skift Global Forum last September, I wrote a plaintive essay about what I missed most about the global gathering of top travel executives in New York City.

Now just months later, with competence and expediency, our part of the world that I live in looks a lot more hopeful, and with that comes great news: Skift Global Forum — the flagship global conference on the business of travel — will be back in-person (as well as online) this September!

In keeping with the amazing promise of travel’s big return, we have chosen the perfect venue that matches that promise: the awe-inspiring, jet-age classic TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport. This stunning venue and proximity within one of the world’s largest travel hubs feels especially poignant after a year without travel for most of the industry.

And I really want to thank Tyler Morse, CEO of MCR Hotels, the company that runs TWA, for partnering with us to make this possible. And yes, that’s me interviewing Tyler on the wing of the Connie airplane, parked in the back tarmac of the TWA Hotel!

What to Expect

Join Skift editors and research analysts as we explore our 2021 theme: Reigniting Travel’s New Economy. Now in its eighth year, Skift Global Forum 2021 is where global industry leaders will come together to discuss travel’s great comeback, making this Forum the most consequential in its history.

Skift Global Forum across three days will hear from and network with CEOs and travel leaders who are driving the future of this industry, including:

  • DAY 1: An opening reception on September 21 on the TWA Hotel tarmac in front of the hotel’s 1958 Lockheed Constellation “Connie” airplane turned cocktail lounge.
  • DAY 2: A full day of discussions on September 22, with several breaks and a catered lunch for attendees. An end-of-day reception will close out the day.
  • DAY 3: A half-day of talks and networking on September 23, ending at 1 p.m., and allowing for post-event meetings at the hotel or offsite.
  • HYBRID: Skift will make this event a truly hybrid experience, providing moments that connect the online and in-person audiences. As always, Skift editors will take live questions from the audience, whether they are in-person or online.
  • ON-DEMAND: All content will be available online for virtual attendees and on-demand post event, for only those who have purchased passes.
  • SAFETY: Your health and safety remain our top priority. All attendees, staff, and vendors will be required to be fully-vaccinated to attend our event. You will be required to provide your vaccination card along with a valid ID upon checking in at the venue. You must have received your final dose of vaccine by Sept. 6 to be considered fully-vaccinated before our event. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the venue. A COVID compliance officer will also be onsite to ensure we practice safe social distancing and we will continue to work closely with the venue and comply with all CDC guidelines.

We are ONLY making a limited number of tickets available for this in-person experience in keeping with safety guidelines, so don’t miss out.

How to attend

Registration for in-person tickets is $2,495 USD and virtual tickets are $345 for the online experience. Attendees from across the globe will be able to view the video live September 21-23, and the event will also be available on-demand following the event for viewing by all registered attendees.

I am really looking forward to personally welcoming you all to New York City and our amazing new venue in September. Trust me, I have been to TWA Hotel about a half dozen times in the last year, for personal visits with my kids who love it, and now for planning for our event, and it is as much of a travel geek playground as can exist today. See you in-person for those who can join us and everyone online as well.
