Skift Take

This How-To series is part of our continuing efforts to make Skift indispensable to the professional lives of marketers, strategists, and technologists in travel. Suggestions on topics welcome!

Screen Shot 2016-06-24 at 2.39.10 PMAs we build our SkiftEDU service around providing ongoing virtual learning sessions for marketers and SMBs in travel, today we are launching a new initiative: our new weekly series on digital marketing tips and tricks, what we’re calling SkiftEDU How-Tos.

These How-Tos will be a series of free in-depth weekly articles around various topics in digital marketing, such as email acquisition and email marketing, Facebook advertising tools for travel companies, Instagram tips and tricks, better ways to use Twitter for travel companies, and many such other tactical daily-use topics — especially for smaller travel businesses without lots of marketing resources. We have tied up with travel marketing expert Frederic Gonzalo as the expert author of the series.

The first How-To in the series is launching this week, on “Handy Email Acquisition Tips For Travel Companies,” around tips and tricks to build your email list. In a world where our Facebook newsfeed is dominated by promoted content and paid media, many travel brands have stopped believing in 1-1 direct communications with customers. They shouldn’t. Email marketing still works!

Every week, we will have a new How-To article on a new topic, we will be alerting you of these through our main Skift daily newsletter.
