Kessler Collection hands hotel operations to Highgate, keeping ownership to focus on expanding its boutique brands faster.
U.S. boutique hotel operator Kessler Collection has formed a partnership with Highgate, handing over day-to-day management of its seven existing properties plus one under development while retaining ownership of the hotels.
The alliance aims to free Kessler's leadership to focus on expanding its hotel portfolio by acquiring more assets rather than wrestling with insurance renewals and day-to-day operations.
Mark Kessler, president and chief operating officer, said that his team wanted to accelerate the expansion of the portfolio beyond its traditional Southeast base.
Meant to Free Up Time and CapitalBut the Kessler family faced constraints from rising construction costs, elevated interest rates, and the time demands of developing properties. The company's recent projects in Greenville, South Carolina, and Charleston took five to seven years to complete.
