India Catches on to Another Trend: Travelers Now Move With Pets in Tow

Indian travelers do not want to leave behind their pets while on vacations. And they are making sure accommodation units know that.

Pet-friendly travel is becoming one of Asia-Pacific’s fastest-growing tourism trends and India is not missing out on it. Online travel company Agoda’s data has revealed a sharp rise in searches and inventory across key markets. 

The company said pet-friendly accommodation listings in India increased 87% year-on-year. This trend is in line with Asia Pacific, with such accommodations in South Korea having increased 102% and those in Thailand up by 92%. 

Thailand leads as the top pet-friendly destination, followed by South Korea and Taiwan.

According to a report by Allied Market Research, millennials and Gen Z travelers are driving this shift.
