Oyo to Add 40 Premium Properties Across India by March

As Oyo eyes an IPO, its pivot to premium and self-serviced hotels shows where the money is, with higher occupancies, better ratings, and a clearer path to investor confidence.
Oyo-parent Prism is planning to expand its premium hotel brand Sunday in India. As part of this expansion, it plans to add 40 more upscale properties, including four-star and five-star hotels across India by March 2026, Aditya Sharma, business head of Sunday Hotels and Resorts’ Business Head, told PTI.
The company is looking at metro and non-metro cities to drive this expansion, and is looking at tourism hotspots such as wildlife sanctuaries and religious destinations. About 40% of these new properties will be opened in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Oyo is also looking to file fresh IPO papers in November. If approved by its board, the hotel operator could seek a valuation of $7-8 billion.
Sharma said the company was in “advanced discussions with leading hotel owners” to bring Sunday hotels to prominent locations in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Raipur. This, he said, would boost the brand’s presence in es
