Nigeria doesn't need much more evidence beyond this misplaced award that its aviation system is a complete mess. But it is.
Nigeria's oil industry and growth have produced very wealthy individuals who have decided to run airlines for fun rather than profile, and there are few signs that they will survive.
Despite the government's optimism, the proposed national airline is still far from a reality. Nigeria's existing problems with airlines and government corruption aren't likely to disappear either.

There may be corruption to go around, but with most of Nigeria's major airlines grounding their planes either by choice or by order, the aviation sector is obviously in disarray at every level.
