Rocking the boat while going through a bankruptcy is unusual for an airline. And how many such frequent flyers are there anyway?
American Airlines has notified members of its frequent-flier club that their "miles with no expiration" may expire. Starting Nov. 1, miles earned before July 1, 1989, in the airline's AAdvantage program will expire if no miles are redeemed, or no additional miles are earned, every 18 months.
