Hotels have chased non-room revenue for years without consolidating the fragmented tech underneath. This acquisition puts one shopping cart and one shared data foundation ahead of any new feature.
RealTime Reservation is acquiring STAY, a guest experience platform for hotels and resorts, in a deal that combines RTR's ancillary booking platform with STAY's tools for mobile ordering, digital menus, guest requests, and feedback. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition, which the company plans to announce publicly Tuesday at the HITEC hospitality conference, targets a basic infrastructure gap: ancillary services — spa, restaurants, cabanas, activities — typically run on separate vendor systems with separate payment setups.
That makes it difficult for hotels to bundle services into a single guest transaction or measure total non-room revenue across properties.
