United is the latest carrier to announce it will raise bag fees as airlines are passing down the price of surging fuel costs onto customers.
United Airlines became the second carrier this week to announce it will raise baggage fees as the industry grapples with spiking fuel costs caused by the Iran war.
The carrier said Thursday the fee increases would start with tickets bought on April 3.
“United is raising first and second checked bag fees by $10 for customers traveling in the U.S., Mexico and Canada and Latin America beginning with tickets purchased Friday, April 3,” the carrier said in a statement.
