Today’s business travel experience looks a lot different than it did even a few years ago, as travel providers increasingly focus on the traveler’s wants, needs, and conveniences.

American Airlines has made a number of recent upgrades to its business travel offerings over the last year or so, including its new Flagship experience, Flagship dining options, and branded amenity offerings. Its new Shuttle, which operates on Boeing 737s between New York LaGuardia and Chicago O’Hare, is another product that can be added to the list.

The Shuttle, which is the first to be offered by American outside of the Northeast, makes the business travel experience more consistent and convenient for those commuting between LaGuardia and Chicago O’Hare, especially for those traveling frequently and last minute. The new Shuttle, which was tested for three months prior to its official launch in April 2018, aims to provide these frequent travelers with an experience that’s effortless on their end.

“When you fly frequently for work, anything that can make the regular commute more comfortable is important,” said Alison Taylor, senior vice president, global sales and distribution at American Airlines. “That’s why we’re pleased to offer valuable time-saving opportunities with our Shuttle, including a convenient and consistent schedule and extended check-in times for you and your bag.”

The Shuttle consists of 15 weekday flights offered hourly between the two business centers, providing customers additional flexibility, choice, and time-saving features. Benefits include dedicated check-in and baggage carousels, easy-to-access boarding gates, quick and easy deplaning, complimentary snacks, beer, and wine in the main cabin, as well as complimentary spirits in first class. These busy travelers are also allowed to check in up to 25 minutes before departure without checked bags and up to 35 minutes before departure with checked bags.

American currently operates Shuttle service between LaGuardia and Boston Logan International Airport, LaGuardia and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and Ronald Reagan Washington National and Boston Logan Airport.
