It's been a wildfire of funding for Indian-based travel startups in the hospitality space so far in 2016, and Stayzilla's latest round continues that momentum.

>>Stayzilla raised a $35 million Series C round from existing investors Matrix Partners and Nexus Investment Partners bringing the Chennai, India-based startup’s total funding to $34 million

Stayzilla is a booking site for alternative accommodations in India. It has more than 30,000 stay options across 4,000 towns in India.

>>HundredRooms raised a $4.6 million Series A round from new investors Seaya Ventures, Bankinter and Media Digital Ventures and new investor Inveready bringing the Mallorca, Spain-based startup’s total funding to $5.7 million.

Founded in 2014, HundredRooms is a vacation rental metasearch platform for Spanish-speaking travelers. The startup plans to use the funding to focus on apartments managed by private individuals and to expand to more Spanish-speaking markets.
