Skift Take
Bunyan Velo's picture of the world stands in contrast to the fast moving, hyper-connected one that many modern travelers inhabit.
Lucas Winzenburg, the founding editor of travel magazine Bunyan Velo, spoke last month at the Skift Global Forum.
Bunyan Velo, which Wizenburg founded in 2013, is a quarterly collection of photos and essays celebrating the pleasures of traveling the world by bicycle.
“I realized that traveling by bicycling was really the best way to explore a place and its people,” Winzenburg told the audience. “Biking is travel at a human scale. It makes you earn every mile. It also allows you to meet people in the areas where you’re traveling. When you’re traveling with bags and wheels, people — without fail — are going to ask you about who you are and where you’re going.”
Over the next three weeks, we will publish in full the presentations and interviews from the Forum. To follow along as they are added, bookmark this page.
