Ben Orson, Managing Director of JPA Design, spoke yesterday at the Skift Global Forum.
Orsen is an industrial designer who practiced with several prominent product and branding consultancies before joining JPA in 2002. Orsen was responsible for the development of airlines’ first and business class as well as lounges, livery, uniforms and brand development. Orsen left JPA in 2010 to build an industrial design facility for Zodiac Aerospace and recently rejoined JPA as managing director.
Orson spoke with Atmosphere Research Group’s Henry Harteveldt about creating the perfect airline cabin space. Here are three things we learned:
- “In 2020, there will be a high-density first class airline cabin.”
- “In 2016 or 2017 you’ll see 3D seating coming to business class cabins.”
- “Cabin spaces should also be crew friendly.”
