Yelp Just Made Local Search Even Easier

A new feature on business-recommendation service Yelp lets you search for restaurants and stores with a simple emoji.

Gone are the days of typing or speaking a query into your phone. Now, if you want to find a bar that serves martinis, simply select your alternate keyboard in iOS, flip through pages of emojis, pick the martini icon, and tap the “search” button.

As The Next Web notes, Yelp isn’t the only company to embrace emojis. Twitter recently introduced emoji support on Twitter.com.

Sadly, it’s unlikely that Yelp will further enhance its app with animated Gif search any time soon.
