New York Governor Calls New York City Airports ‘Inexcusable’

Responding to an anecdote from Vice President Joe Biden … about how foreign airports are often a source of envy to American travelers, Mr. Cuomo said the state of New York’s major airports, including LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy in Queens, was “inexcusable.” He hinted strongly that he would propose something in his State of the State speech on Wednesday to address the situation.

“I don’t want to give away news from tomorrow, but you’re exactly right about the airports,” Mr. Cuomo said, sitting at a long table with the vice president, legislative leaders and Capital region Rep. Paul Tonko. “Even here in New York, LaGuardia and JFK are inexcusable, frankly, that they have not been redeveloped to keep pace with the best international airports.”
