Short of taking out a billboard or skywriting, we have no idea how much more Wyndham Hotels & Resorts can do to tell Choice Hotels to go away on its bid.
Wyndham is playing very hard to get. And unless lovestruck Choice is equipped to sweeten its offer, it may view this target forever as the one who got away.
Choice Hotels is seeing weakness in its hotel development pipeline. That may not improve much if it remains distracted by pursuing a merger with Wyndham.
Choice Hotels, after the close yesterday, issued a press release asking (demanding?) Wyndham Hotels to come back to the table and engage them in discussions regarding a transaction.
