British Airways Will Allow In-Flight Calls With Starlink, Courting Controversy

British Airways is taking the unusual step in permitting in-flight phone calls to take place on planes with Starlink. In the U.S., it is illegal to make such phone calls, but they are allowed in the UK and the EU.
British Airways is going to allow in-flight calls to take place with Starlink Wi-Fi, an unusual — and controversial — decision for an airline.
“If you’re making a call, keep your voice low and use headphones,” the carrier’s webpage on Starlink Wi-Fi says.
Starlink has become more popular with airlines as they have been looking to upgrade their in-flight Wi-Fi, partly to appeal more to business and premium customers.
