American Airline's CEO takes to YouTube to say "we're sorry" for groundings
Skift Take
Tuesday's outage put Twitter on the frontline, Facebook in backup position, and YouTube as the cleanup crew for American. Once again we're faced with the question: Why do companies need ads in publications when they're the publisher, too?
Current American Airlines CEO Tom Horton took to YouTube late Tuesday afternoon to apologize for the fleet wide grounding in the United States. Taping from the floor of American's Dallas operations center, Horton stated that the problems were the result of a software issue that could not be handled by system redundancies.
Horton says, "We're responsible for getting you to business meetings, vacations, and to see your family and friends. That's a responsibility we take very seriously and we don't like to let you down."
