TravelTriangle and Lola Each Raise $10 Million More: Travel Startup Funding This Week

Each week we create a roundup of travel startups that have received or announced funding that week. This week the total amount raised was more than $23 million.

>>MindYourFleet, a software-as-a-service platform for car rental and ground transportation companies, was namechecked in our Monday article as one of five new travel startups from India that have momentum.

Since then, the Uttar Pradesh-based company revealed that it has raised a bridge round of financing, led by Japan Vyas, co-founder of Sixth Sense Ventures, and Tarun Adlakha, an angel investor. The terms and amount were not disclosed.

>>Lola, a startup aimed at giving travel agents technological superpowers and travelers chat-based interfaces, has raised additional funding for its Series B round.

Only a few weeks ago, Skift reported that the company, run by Kayak co-founder Paul English, had secured $15 million in funding. This week we note that GV and Tenaya have joined, chipping in $10 million to the round. The total Lola has raised is now $43 million. Lola recently spent some of its funding by adding five engineers to its Boston-based headquarters.

>>TravelTriangle, an online marketplace, has raised $10 million in Series B financing, led by RB Investments, a Singapore-based venture capital firm. The company's past investors include Bessemer Venture Partners and SAIF Partners. The startup, which has a team of 300 based in Noida, Gurgaon, India, has raised $19.9 million in total funding.

TravelTriangle has agents bid for customer business, essentially. It plays matchmaker between each customer and at least three local travel agents, letting the customer choose the best itinerary from those agents. Impressively, the startup has built a customer relationship management tool to help travel agencies pinpoint which prospects are the most promising.

>>Wandertrails, a Bangalore-based experiential travel startup, has raised $1 million in seed investment from Earlsfield Capital, a British venture capital firm.

Founded in July 2016, Wandertrails hosts more than 5,000 experiential stays (think: treehouses and houseboats) and live-like-a-local activities (such as heritage walks and wine tastings) in 65 Indian destinations.

>>Airsorted, a London-based Airbnb estate agent, has raised £1.5 million ($1.9 million) in funding, led by venture partnership Concentric.

The startup, founded in 2015, provides management services for Airbnb hosts. It told Techcrunch UK that it manages 1,000 homes on behalf of owners, using demand management algorithms to optimize the pricing to ensure maximum earnings.
