American Express GBT is looking for new leadership to assist in its development toward an organization more focused on digital bookings and services.

American Express Global Business Travel president and CEO Bill Glenn has stepped down from his role and will be replaced by current American Express GBT chairman of the board Greg O’Hara.

O’Hara will preside over the corporate travel management company while it conducts a search for Glenn’s permanent successor. Glenn will become a member of American Express GBT’s board of directors.

Glenn has served as president and CEO since American Express entered into a joint venture with private equity group Certares and Qatar Investment Authority to spin off American Express GBT in March 2014. O’Hara is the founder of Certares.

Certares also owns Travel Leaders Group.

“I am so proud to have led this organization to the industry leading position we are in today,” said Glenn in a statement. “Along with Greg [O’Hara], I am very excited about what is coming and eager to be part of GBT’s success as a Board member.”

The news at American Express GBT comes just a few days after Carlson Wagonlit Travel replaced longtime president and CEO Doug Anderson with Travelport veteran Kurt Ekert.
