MakeMyTrip and Cleartrip Both Just Launched Creator Programs. The Models Are Different — For Now

Two near-identical launches in five weeks prove that creator-led travel commerce is here. The hard part now is proving that a reel can turn into a booking, and deciding how much the companies are willing to spend before they have that proof.
Cleartrip last week launched Creators Club, a program that lets creators earn money when someone books a trip through their content. The launch follows MakeMyTrip's Creator Circle by just weeks.
Both programs recruit creators based on engagement rather than follower counts, and both embed booking links directly inside social content. But the bets each company is making — on who gets paid, how attribution works, and what kind of creator joins — are different.
How Each Program WorksCleartrip: A creator links any piece of content — a reel published the day before or a video uploaded 18 months ago — to the Cleartrip platform. When a viewer comments “TRIP,” a direct message (DM) fires instantly with a unique booking link, pre-filled search, and an exclusive coupon code. The creator earns on confirmed bookings, not on likes or impressions.
MakeMyTrip: MakeMyTrip has partnered with Meta for the project to run on Instagram. A v
