American Airlines and Alaska Airlines have been engaged in talks about a possible revenue-sharing partnership and other strategic initiatives.
The talks are still in the early stages, according to a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly. The arrangement would be larger than American’s previous Northeast Alliance with JetBlue, as it includes adding Alaska to American’s joint business ventures with British Airways and Japan Airlines.
