Saudi-Russia relations are no longer defined only by oil. Flight expansions and visa deals show the partnership widening into travel and tourism, giving both countries new levers of influence beyond energy markets.

Saudi Arabia and Russia on Monday signed a mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries. The announcement is significant as Russia is the first country in the world to receive visa-free access in Saudi for ordinary passport holders.

Under the agreement, citizens of both countries can enter visa-free for tourism, business, or family visits and stay for up to 90 consecutive days, or 90 days spread throughout the year. However, the exemption does not apply to travel for work, study, or Hajj.
