Hotels, airlines, and travel players stand to benefit as concerts in India are no longer localized, with Indians repeatedly traveling as far as they need to for the experience.
Singer Enrique Iglesias held two concerts in Mumbai on October 29 and 30, marking his return to India after 13 years. According to organizer Eva Live, more than 60,000 people attended these sold-out concerts, while generating more than $10 million for Maharashtra Tourism.
Eva Live said more than 50% of the attendees traveled from other states, including Karnataka, Assam, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Punjab.
The concerts highlighted the surge in live event attendance among Indian travelers. Iglesias had initially planned a single show in Mumbai, but soon ended up adding a second one due to high demand. In order to facilitate the flow of attendees within the city, the Mumbai Metro also extended its hours of operation until midnight.
Live Tourism and India: India is experiencing a live tourism frenzy, as fans are traveling across the country to attend concerts and sporting events.
