U.S. Airlines Warn Flights May Slow Down if Government Shuts Down

The airline industry is pressing Congress to come up with a deal to avert a government shutdown by Wednesday.
Airlines for America, a trade group that represents major U.S. airlines including American, Delta, and United, warned that a shutdown could lead to slower operations.
“Aviation is the safest mode of transportation, but to maintain that the system may need to slow down, reducing efficiency,” A4A said in a statement.
