Hong Kong Grounds Flights for 36 Hours Over Super Typhoon Threat

Hong Kong is a major aviation and logistics hub. A 36-hour suspension, or even a day of heavily curtailed operations, would ripple through global supply chains and connecting flights.
Hong Kong is bracing for a major wave of flight cancellations as Super Typhoon Ragasa moves closer. The weather disruptions would lead to around 700 flight cancellations, with the heaviest disruption set for the window from Tuesday evening through Thursday morning.
However, airlines have said there could be further flight delays and cancellations over the next two days depending on weather conditions and the typhoon’s path.
