Leisure and Hospitality Lead Job Gains as August Hiring Slows

Hotels may be adding jobs, but the sector still has a way to go to reach pre-Covid employment levels.
The pace of hiring in the U.S. slowed in August, but there was one bright spot: the leisure and hospitality sector, which added 50,000 jobs, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Thursday. That was the biggest gain of all the industry groups broken out by ADP.
And hospitality workers got a big pay bump, up 4.5% from a year earlier.
