Skift Global Forum isn’t a just a line of business for us. It is the distillation of everything we work for.
Skift Global Forum is less than a month away and we’re all hands on deck preparing for it to be an amazing one, in its fifth year.
For us Forums are a manifestation of everything we do at Skift; a manifestation of the business and creative promise of travel, and a manifestation of how we look at innovation in travel. Or indeed any sector.
When we started hosting conferences in 2014, we could’nt imagine the quick growth we’d experience, or the amount of fun we would have making sure that Skift Forums are genuine experiences like no other in the industry. Our events have since expanded across the globe. Global Forum remains our largest event, still growing each year, and in 2018 we expect 1,100+ attendees from 40+ countries representing 550+ companies. Over 400 companies from all sectors of travel are already confirmed. Add yours to the list.
A LOOK BACK IN GLOBAL FORUM HISTORY: Our team has grown along with the attendee base!
One of the fallacies of innovation today is 1) tech = innovation and 2) new companies/startups = innovation. It’s the basis of much of the current state of the tech backlash happening around the world, chasing every new thing that comes along, without an understanding of the larger costs of the chase. Innovation for us — what we’ve bet our work on at Skift — is not chasing new for the sake of it, but new ways of looking at existing sectors.
Our Forums inhabit this view of innovation. The 30+ c-level and leading executive speakers we curate to be on stage, the themes we discuss and the questions we focus on all speak to our quest to understand the state of innovation in the travel sector and larger innovations in the world that affect travel. The big picture of the world, with travel as a filter to look at it.
That’s why we bet this will be the best creative brainfood for you all year, that much we can promise!
Just don’t call us a freakin’ trade conference!
