Travel Megatrends 2018: Examining the Hotel of the Future,” offers a closer look at the emerging strategies the hotel industry is using to evolve and thrive in the face of new competitors like alternative accommodations heavyweight, Airbnb.

As local interactions and experiences start to play a greater role in travelers’ motivations, hotels are looking for new ways evolve their offerings in order to appeal to both their visitors and the residents of the cities they operate in. With this in mind, one of the biggest advantages hotels have is the ability to deliver on consumers’ growing desire for community: becoming a hub that meets the needs of locals and guests alike.
