Skift Take

You may have missed out on this year's Skift Global Forum, but you don't have to miss out on one of the key parts of the conversation at the event and within the industry.

Last week we preceded the launch of our Skift Global Forum with an introduction to Permanxiety, a term we’re using to describe the current state of the traveler and the consumer mindset. During the event, many of the industry’s leading CEOs spoke about what impact Permanxiety was having on both their businesses and how they were planning for the future.

In CEO Rafat Ali’s essay, he asks: “What is the travel industry’s role here? Travel, as Skift has been saying for several years, is a global crucible for everything.”

In a series of essays, reported stories, and interviews, we look at how travelers relate to destinations, hotels, and airlines, as well as how they navigate the world. With first-person reports, travelers share specific concerns and challenges they experience. A running thread through everything is what travel brands can do to alleviate travelers’ anxieties and deliver the experiences that we all seek.
