Skift Is Looking for a Meetings and Events Reporter

Skift Take

We want to “Skiftify” the meetings and events industry. Are you up for it?

As Skift is expanding its scope of coverage into various sectors of travel, we are looking to expand our existing coverage of the meetings, conventions, and events industries.

We are looking for a dedicated freelance reporter who can report and write stories on a weekly basis on the business traditionally called MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and events), and the changing consumer habits around the sector. We want someone who understands the needs of meetings planners as well as the destinations and products that are vying for their attention and business.

The reporter will be familiar with both the meetings industry — from the top destinations to the compelling, emerging ones — and adjacent spaces of hospitality, technology, and business travel.

Required: Business reporting experience in the meetings industry. Consumer travel writing experience will not make the cut for us; business reporting experience is essential.

Preferably based in New York City area, but open to other parts of the United States as well.

Compensation: Attractive freelance rates with guaranteed consistency of work.

Email us with a cover letter and resume at [email protected].
