>>Tiquets raised a $4 million Series A round from new investor Capital Mills bringing the Amsterdam, Netherlands-based startup’s total funding to $5.4 million.
Tiquets provides travelers with instant, mobile tickets for attractions such as museums, shows and other points of interest and was founded in 2013. So far it operates in several European cities such as London, Paris, Rome and Amsterdam, and plans to add New York City and Prague this month.
>>Cab Guru raised a $2.8 million seed round from an undisclosed investor and is based in the U.K.
Cab Guru is a mobile app letting travelers compare local taxi fares. It lets travelers map out their route such as multiple stops, vehicle type and time of travel before booking a ride. It’s currently only operational in the U.K.
>>Jobbatical raised a $2 million seed round from new investors Union Square Ventures, Local Globe and SmartCap bringing the Tallin, Estonia-based startup’s total funding to $2.9 million.
Jobbatical connects professionals with short-term gigs related to their field in destinations around the world. Employers can post openings for such sabbatical positions and employees can browse different gigs offering a variety of skill sets and settings.
