Consumers have become more conscious of the effect of travel on the environment. As one of the bigger polluters in travel — airlines win hands down, we know — cruise lines need to do more to explain the benefits of this to their customers, who often only care about a "deal."

Cruise lines tend to gloss over the pollution their ships pump into both the air and sea. By signing a new partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Royal Caribbean Cruises wants consumers to recognize the impact of its sustainability efforts on the oceans it sails and destinations its ships visit.
