Revelers will want to think twice before booking a last-minute ticket to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Sunshine State this year.
Hotel room rates more than double in many Florida cities as hoteliers take advantage of the dramatic increase in demand. A new survey from MiamiHotels.org shows that rates for most affordable rooms in Key West increase up to 178 percent between December 30 and January 2.
The most affordable rates at hotels in Miami and Fort Meyers Beach also more than double during the nights surrounding New Year's Eve.
