Louisiana celebrates its deep musical roots in new tourism ad campaign

Skift Take

Louisiana timed the new campaign just as its two major events for 2013 came to an end in an attempt to keep the momentum going and incoming visitor numbers rolling.

Louisiana is coming off a busy few weeks after hosting the Super Bowl and finishing up Mardi Gras celebrations, but doesn't want its tourism season to end there.

Yesterday the Louisiana Office of Tourism unveiled a new tourism advertising campaign meant to keep the momentum going and attract out-of-state visitors.

The slogan of the campaign is "Pick your passion," and exposes viewers to a variety of music styles all said to be born in the Southern state.

The ads created by Trumpet will run in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Little Rock, Memphis, Atlanta and Chicago throughout 2013. This is the first time that Louisiana is targeting destinations that are further than a drive away.

The entire campaign's videos, digital spots, and print ads can be seen here.
