This would be a case of yet another silly purchase of cruise ship art were it not for the Federal Maritime Commission's odd interest in the case and the couple's insistence on cruising with Carnival. Odd.

The passengers' ordeal is almost over, although the end-game is taking longer than anticipated.

Lets hope the passengers can debark tonight for their own sake, and for the benefit of the throngs of friends and relatives who want to get them off the stinking ship.

In spite of the Costa Concordia disaster and the Costa Allegra stranding, Carnival didn't think 2012 was so bad. Now that its failures have hit closer to home it may very well sing another tune for 2013.
