Concerns about the Boeing 787 Dreamliner are so acute that Boeing had to trot out the aircraft's chief engineer to try to calm things down. Passengers on board the impacted flights aren't really appeased by comparisons to previous aircraft rollouts.
The Dreamliner relies more heavily on its electrical systems than do other aircraft so the raft of electrical fires is causing concern among Boeing's airline partners and stockholders.
Boeing beat out competitor Airbus for the first time in ten years as the company pumped out the 737 and 787 Dreamliner and received more plane orders in a single year than it had since 2007.

The jets’ deployments haven’t been slowed by the first few reports of manufacturing problems, but Boeing could have a much bigger issue on its hands if this continues as new airlines takeoff in their Dreamliners.
