We're going to need another class of airline to define Qatar. It's untraditional. It doesn't conform to the luxury mold. A new Upscale-Gulf-All Business-Economy Carrier for the A380 skies? It's a new model--one we can't quite put a label on yet, but suspect will do very well.
This is a bold move forward by Hawaiian, rather than waiting for ATTF to complete its review. While passengers don't need (and may not want) to know, how ACARS work, they'll appreciate knowing their aircraft is tracked and communicating--even when it's half-way across the Pacific.
Investments by JetBlue and Delta have paid off in their respective terminals at JFK, proving to carriers and airports that an enjoyable, sophisticated airport venue can improve loyalty and revenue.
JetBlue will likely be the airline adding bag fees in 2015, not Southwest. Forsaking fees for first and second check bags is still good business for Southwest.
