Kiwis aren’t happy with Australia’s Christchurch travel warnings

New Zealand tourism bosses are taking issue with an Australian government warning against travel to earthquake-damaged Christchurch, which is the same as warnings given to those heading to East Timor, Rwanda or Iran.

“You should exercise a high degree of caution in Christchurch and Lyttelton at this time because of damage to buildings, public infrastructure, and essential services caused by the earthquake,” the www.smartraveller.gov.au website operated by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs says.
