SkiftStats: U.S. travel industry employment at highest level since fall 2008

Would be more helpful for USTA to give breakdown of the kind of jobs added monthly, though overall growth numbers are certainly good news.

The U.S. travel industry added 7,000 new jobs in August...this also marks the ninth consecutive month of positive growth in travel employment. Total travel industry employment now stands at 7.6 million, the highest level since November 2008.

The travel industry has created jobs nearly 30 percent faster than the rest of the economy over the past 30 months and has made up 59 percent of the jobs that were lost during the great recession.
