Two of the biggest online travel agencies in Asia have decided that sharing inventory is a faster route to scale than going it alone. That is the key takeaway.
Trip.com and Traveloka announced Thursday that they will share tours and attractions inventory across the region. Each company will give the other access to more bookable experiences. Traveloka will make its Southeast Asian experiences available to Trip.com users. Trip.com will open its Asia and worldwide tours and attractions network to Traveloka users.
The deal makes more options visible inside each app. It also links two of the biggest online travel agencies in Asia, as they come together for scale, reach and filling gaps in each other’s networks.
