For Accor, which has long described India as a “critical” market, the joint venture with InterGlobe signals a reset after years of fragmented structures. All eyes are now on the long-awaited CEO announcement to see who will steer the next phase.
Accor is moving to streamline its operations in India – one of its most important markets – and plans to soon announce a CEO to lead the effort.
Earlier this year, the French hotel group and its long-time partner InterGlobe agreed to run all Accor hotels in India through a single joint venture.The upcoming changes come after what executives admit was a confusing setup, with multiple entities handling development, licensing, and operations. “It was a bit of a hodgepodge,” Aditya Pande, group CEO of InterGlobe Enterprises, told Skift in an exclusive interview. “Now we are bringing the whole thing together.”
And addressing Accor’s leadership vacuum in India, Pande hinted at an announcement of a new CEO “fairly shortly.”
