Skift Take

Travel brands can't ignore a growing market that's ready to spend. They just need to have the right teams in place to spot the opportunities.

Zim Ugochukwu, founder of Travel Noire, spoke at the Skift Global Forum about the growing global community of black travelers.

While the travel industry has a clear diversity problem, consumers are more diverse than ever and they’re clamouring for attention from brands. Ugochukwu’s talk ran through a litany of stats that many in the industry aren’t familiar with, from the $48 billion spent on domestic travel by African Americans to the
17% of them who take one or more international trips annually.
