TripAdvisor Acquires Restaurant Reservations App in Portugal

Expedia is gobbling up online travel agencies in the U.S. and Australia while TripAdvisor is feasting on dining reservations apps in Europe. The gorging continues.
TripAdvisor helped itself to another European restaurant reservations app as it reportedly acquired BestTables in Portugal.
BestTables operates in Brazil, as well, with 1,200 bookable restaurants between the two countries.
On the dining reservations front, TripAdvisor already owned Lafourchette.com, Eltenedor.com and Iens.nl and groups them under Thefork.com umbrella as TripAdvisor is setting up a battle with Priceline Group-owned OpenTable.com.
Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
