When you wish upon a star, as the ad says, you'll go down in short-term history as a champion.
Super Bowl XLIX ended the way most other competitions between the AFC and the NFC have: With one winner promising to head to Orlando, FL or Anaheim, CA.
This year’s pitchmen were Julian Edelman and Malcolm Butler, who made the boast after the Patriots beat the Seahawks with the score of 28-24. The Disney Parks advertisement joined ones from Carnival, Tourism Ecuador, Priceline, and United’s mileage program as the only travel ads during the annual competition.
It’s not only the most long-standing travel ad in circulation, it’s one of the most iconic ad campaigns ever.
New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms was in the first “I’m Going to Disney World!” Super Bowl advertisement, back in 1987.
A Disney representative said that the company doesn’t do interviews about the campaign.
