Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort officials say the destination won’t be opening Friday as planned while they wait for a storm to bring snow this weekend.
Resort spokeswoman Veronica Kawka said Tuesday that the resort is hoping its winter season gets a Dec. 5 start.
The resort is reliant on the cold kindness of mother nature but it also plans to help blanket its slopes by borrowing extra snow-making machines from Utah resorts.
Weather conditions have been warmer than usual for the skiing and snowboarding destination.
It’s about an hour northwest of Las Vegas.
Kawka says the resort will have a new chair lift to accommodate twice as many people per day and a snow tubing course when it opens for the season.
